I haven't seen the movie yet, but from the pictures I've seen the costumes alone seem exquisite and well made.
Sister Design Duo Kate and Laura Mulleavy of
Rodarte designed the costumes for The Swan Lake ballet that is shown in the film.
Tutus are quite complex and very hard to design they're simply an art form.
“Building a tutu is one of the lost couture arts. Everyone will know it’s like getting
your hand on the prize, like a coveted piece of couture that no one ever gets to
see,you can’t go rent a tutu. You have to own it…They’re never actually perfect,
but from afar, when you’re in the audience, it looks like one of the most beautiful
things in the world.” Laura previously explained to nymag.com.here are some
images to give you a taste of what you can expect from the film :
The designer's initial sketches for the costumes :
Simply mesmerizing.
